Module 1: Understanding Impact and Building Foundations

Goal: Identify your unique critical thinking, decision-making, and creative problem-solving skills.

Objectives:

  • Learn how everyday decisions impact your career and community.
  • Understand how various careers and skills contribute to the creation and distribution of a product.
  • Get acquainted with the Community On Demand card deck.
  • Use the Community On Demand skill cards to map out a strategic plan.
  • Learn how to conduct a skills self-assessment.

Description:
In this first module, you’ll explore how your daily choices shape both your personal and professional life. You’ll recognize the importance of different skills in creating and distributing a product. Through exercises, you'll enhance your critical thinking, strategic planning, and teamwork skills. You’ll also get to experience how the Community On Demand card game can help you build a solid foundation for future growth and learning.

Module 2: Defining and Measuring Your Skillset

Goal: Define, measure, build, and name the value and impact of your skillset.

Objectives:

  • Understand what skills are and why they matter.
  • Get familiar with the Community On Demand skill cards.
  • Track and measure your skillset using achievement domains and service goals.
  • Learn the five-step decision-making process of the STEAM Investigative Process.
  • Enhance the strategies you used to create your Bag of Chips strategic plan.
  • Develop the ability to quantify the potential and contribution values of your skillset.

Description:
This module dives deep into understanding and measuring your skills. You’ll track and assess your abilities using achievement domains and service goals, helping you quantify your skillset’s potential and contribution. You’ll also get introduced to the STEAM Investigative Process, a five-step decision-making framework that enhances your strategic planning and problem-solving skills.

Module 3: Collaborating with Diverse Mindsets

Goal: Effectively communicate and collaborate with various mindsets, motivations, missions, and methods for building solutions and solving problems.

Objectives:

  • Acknowledge different mindsets and motivations in a group.
  • Align different missions and problem-solving methodologies for effective collaboration.
  • Use Community On Demand learning tools to develop a collaborative strategic plan with a group.

Description:
In this module, you’ll learn to effectively collaborate with diverse groups of people, each with their own motivations, missions, and problem-solving methods. Through the introduction of the Strategist Mindset and the SIP Grid, you’ll understand how to align different perspectives and foster teamwork to create a cohesive, strategic plan. These tools will help you communicate more effectively and solve problems in collaborative settings.

Module 4: Implementing Solutions in the Community

Goal: Understand and actively participate in the Community On Demand creative economy by using the Money Guide for Young Entrepreneurs and the STEAM Investigative Process to complete service-learning projects.

Objectives:

  • Balance different motives, interests, and opinions to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough research to understand community needs and opportunities.
  • Develop a well-defined solution to address a specific community need or challenge.
  • Assemble and lead a team effectively.
  • Create a value map outlining the benefits and impact of your solution.
  • Gain skills in asset management to utilize resources efficiently.
  • Communicate your achievements and successes within your team and to a broader audience.
  • Package and present your skills and accomplishments professionally.

In this final module, you’ll take everything you’ve learned and turn your strategic plans into real-world solutions. Using the Money Guide for Young Entrepreneurs and the Community On Demand card game, you’ll conduct research, develop solutions, lead a team, and present your work.
